How it started

I was in the basement of House of Zen one day feeling a void in this place but couldn't tell why. For three months I kept finding things missing in the space. I kept bringing chairs and desks from the street; I put up a curtain to have more storage space; My ex-roommate brought me their spare trash can. This was, or should be the first time I actually feel “Everything is in place now”——but I kept feeling this was not it. But what is the missing part?

If we had everything we NEED, maybe it is time to think about what we WANT to do in this space. This was how the queer movie night started. And ever since I felt it is the perfect regular event for this space.

I'm also doing the movie night in honor of Dafei, the 3-year beloved movie night community and the commune I had privilege to once lived in.
